Support the Arts - Become a Volunteer at the Center for the Creative Arts!
If you would like to know more about the Center for the Creative Arts, we encourage you to join our volunteer program. Volunteerism provides an excellent opportunity for you to meet our faculty, artists, staff and other members of the Community. There are many ways that you can help, from office support and special events to planning committees and building & grounds upkeep. The amount of time that you have to give isn't important ... we appreciate whetever you can offer.
In exchange for your time and dedication, the Center is happy to reward you for your efforts. Hours volunteered accrue into "volunteer credit" which can be exchanged for:
CCArts membership renewal or membership extension (10 hours)
Complimentary workshop credits (20 hours)
Complimentary full-length course credits (30 hours)
Manpower or Womanpower Needed Immediately:
- Volunteer Yard Sale Coordinator (s): Coordinator(s) to manage logistics and volunteer efforts of the Yorklyn Yearly Yard Sale, June 12, 2010. This person will work with staff to follow through on plans already established. It will require several meetings this spring, phone calls and email communications, ad postings and deliveries. Approximately 10 hours sorting and pricing prior to the event and 7am-3pm on the day of the event, Saturday June 12. This is a great fundraiser for much needed summer camp scholarships. - Yard Sale Support Volunteers: Planning, poster making and distribution, sorting and labeling and day of event volunteers are needed to make the 2nd annual yard sale successful. Contact Sharon, skgabor@ccarts.org.
- Catalog Capers: Help us distribute class catalogs to libraries, schools, doctor and dental offices, galleries, framers and other businesses in your area. We especially need people to help distribute in Hockessin, Pike Creek, Centerville, Greenville, downtown Wilmington, North Wilmington, Kennett Square, Longwood area, Chadds Ford, Avondale and West Grove. - Front Desk: Help is needed on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and on alternating Wednesday mornings and Monday-Wednseday evenings. Talk to Becky, rleppig@ccarts.org
- Mad Potters: Join our volunteer landscaping maintenance crew to keep our property looking nice. They mulch, weed, prune, deadhead, plant and enjoy each other's company working outside. Let Carla know if you can help, cpastore@ccarts.org
Donations Needed
- For CCArts general operations: Small (approximately 5 gallon) colorful plastic bins to collect recyclables. Help CCArts "Go Green for Art"!
- For SAGO camps: Please check, for items you may have on hand that will help us both recycle for art, and help camp. You will find items like frames, beads, mirrors, keys and more recyclable items on this list.
- For the Yorklyn Yearly Yard Sale: You may begin bringing your Yard Sale donations to CCArts through June 10. Please donate good condition items including artwork, prints, crafts, art/craft supplies and equipment as well as household items, toys, antiques, outdoor items, etc. for CCArts to sell. Please do not bring clothing. CCArts will sell these items. Proceeds go towards scholarships.
