Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities:
Office Help: Weekly, Monday-Friday the staff needs a Front Desk volunteer during the hours of 12-3pm and 3-6pm. Answer phones, accept registrations, greet our guests and help the office staff with extra light clerical work. (Please call to see what shifts we need help with.) You can help with one or several shifts per month.
Mailings: From time to time, CCArts does our own in-house mailings where we need volunteers. You would help with stuffing, sorting, folding and labeling various mailings. This will come up about 4-6 times per year. Sometimes it is a group effort all at one time, or you could be asked to come in at your convenience to help.
Distributions: Our Catalog Capers help distribute catalogs and literature to local communities. This distribution happens quarterly. We need 1 or 2 volunteers for each of the following communities: Hockessin, Wilmington, Centerville, Greenville, Kennett Square, Unionville, Avondale, Landenberg and Newark. Please consider being the distribution person in an area where you live or visit as a shopper, patient, patron, parent, etc. We recommend locations like libraries, medical offices of all kinds, galleries, schools, coffee shops, even car dealers and other places where people are likely to be waiting for some reason.
Committees: Serve on a committee in an area of your expertise or interest. We have several special events per year, a gallery committee, a facilities committee, an artisans show committee and some other committees that meet a few times per year.
Events: CCArts holds about 3 or 4 big events per year. For each event we need a few volunteers to help with the opening reception. The jobs which might be needed include wine server, raffle ticket or 50/50 seller, kitchen help, food preparation, floater, set up or clean up. We would contact you prior to each event to see when you are available to help and which job you prefer.
Craft Show: Our Annual Artisans Show is the 2nd weekend in November each year. It is held all day Saturday and Sunday. We need approximately 30 volunteers (in shifts) for this event. Jobs vary and include parking help, set up and clean up help, ticket sales, raffle sales, booth sitter and more. Please help if you can, this is a fun event and you get free admission since you’re volunteering!
Outdoor Jobs: CCArts has approximately 3 acres of property. We have one group of individuals we call our Mad Potters, who help us take care of the landscaping by way of planting and pruning our gardens. We are always in need of grounds help like cleaning out leaves, removing branches or shoveling snow off off walks. CCArts is currently looking for one or a group of volunteers to help mow our lawn and do other odd jobs outside.
Facilities: Are you a handyman? There are lots of odd jobs that need to be done on an as needed basis and special projects that come up from time to time. Can you fix a toilet? Hang some shelves? We want to hear from you!
Special Interest: Do you think you can help with something that we haven’t pointed out in one of the above sections? Please let us know what that is, or if you would rather we contact you when a new volunteer job comes up we can do that as well! Add your name to our volunteer email list and we'll send you opportunities as they come up.
- For Summer Camps: Please check for items you may have on hand that will help us up-cycle items for making art. You will find items like frames, beads, mirrors, keys, cardboard tubes and more on this list.
We welcome new and returning volunteers!
