Teen Intern Program
The Teen Intern Program at the Center for the Creative Arts is an excellent way for young people to learn about art first hand and gain valuable volunteer and leadership experience. While there are many opportunities for teens to get involved with CCArts throughout the school year, the Teen Intern Program runs mainly in conjunction with our CCArts Summer Camps, which features ten weeks of art classes for children.
Interns are an essential part of the summer camp experience, providing valuable assistance as teachers’ aides, caretakers and positive role models for younger students. In exchange for their volunteer time, CCArts interns get to explore their creative talents by working side by side with professional instructors from a variety of backgrounds and artistic mediums. They may also participate in special art projects such as murals, sculpture installations and photography projects.
New to our intern program is our Saturday Morning Arts for Kids classes, which are held Saturdays during the school year from 9:00am-1:00pm. Interns can help with up to three classes each Saturday during the session. Classes include Pottery, Drawing and Painting for a variety of age groups.
In return for volunteering, interns may receive special benefits, including free membership, workshops and course credits. We are also happy to provide certification and recommendation letters for schools, special programs and scholarship foundations.
