Spring Thing is a FREE concert to be held Sunday, June 3, 1-8pm at the Center for the Creative Arts, in Yorklyn, DE  All ages welcome. Free parking. We invite guests to make a donation to support CCArts if they can. Our indoor stage will host an impressive lineup of talent including Brandon Mesen, evergo, Younger Than Charlie, Sin Brothers and Bullbuckers

Fill your head with music to drive your soul right into summer. Rock, folk, pop, alternative, ska, Carribbean and everything in between. Sample beers from Dew Point Brewing Co., grab some farm to table fresh fare from The Chatham Diner, see artwork by "Studio Addition" and "Record Breakers", enjoy flower decor by Richardson's Floral Center, you'll wonder why you've never been to Yorklyn before. 

ABOUT THE BANDS:

Sin Brothers: The Sin Brothers are a dynamic musical ensemble built around the core duo of singing brothers Mark and Erik Hetzel on guitar and keyboards, along with saxophonist Mark Gregan, guitarist Paul Spiegel and drummer Tom Stanley. Based in the Philadelphia area, they play to audiences nationwide on stages large and small, both as headliners and opening for some of the biggest names in the music business. With a broad repertoire encompassing crowd favorites and eclectic b-sides few other live bands perform, the brothers welcome all song requests and continue to add to their ever-growing song list.

evergo: evergo is the alternative rock pop crew from Pennsylvania. evergo recently finished recording their debut EP which you can purchase on Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify and more!  Immersed in their new music, they are diligently and excitedly honing their craft, sound and lyrics, while also gearing up for their shows in 2018.

Younger Than Charlie: Founded by Charlie Rokosny, Younger than Charlie is a band local to the West Chester/Kennett Square area. They perform both covers and originals.
All six members, Charlie Rokosny, Stephen Leo, Mike Rusk, Bob Hickman, Rosemary Schrader and Ed Cohle, came together behind their love of all things music. Rock in particular. In fact, their catch phrase is "Rock as it should be." Younger Than Charlie's virtuoso sound comes from a mix of rock, alternative and folk rock. Originally founded as Still Life, Younger than Charlie gave their namesake to their founder, Charlie Rokosny, who is, the oldest member of the band. They released their first album, Blue Skies, on Amazon, Itunes, Spotify and CDBaby at the end of 2016. Their second album is also available on all of of the same platforms and recently released!

Bullbuckers: The Bullbuckers are an independent band with a big sound from the small wonder, known as Delaware.  The bands debut CD has received accolades in four international songwriting contests (John Lennon Songwriting Contest, UK Songwriting Contest, The Great American Song Contest, & The ASA International Category for the Australian Songwriters Association) along with honors in their region. Influenced by the roots of American and Caribbean music the Bullbuckers are Inspired by Boss Tunes, Irie Vibes, Soul, and Rock & Roll. The band has melded these bold, real, gritty, sounds into a cauldron of boiling sounds that is familiar yet distinctly their own. Band members include: Kevin Tarzanin (Bass & Vocals), Mike "Schuib" Schuibbeo (Drums), Aaron Poole (Guitar and Vocals), (Trombone), John Paul (Trumpet), Zack Scudlark (Sax) and the rest of the crew are in it to make the bodies rock.

Spring Thing will also feed you with fresh "farm to table" food from the Chatham Diner. They'll be bringing us a tasty menu featuring: Chili and chips, mac-n-cheese, veggie basket, pasta with meatballs, Meatball, Brisket, Chicken Salad and Porkette sandwiches, red skin potato salad and cookies. We'll also be hosting a beer tasting from our friends at Dew Point Brewing Co., who will offer a lager and IPA for everyone to try and purchase. They are donating all the proceeds of their beer sales to CCArts!

Check out some hipster art at Spring Fling. Featured artists include The Record Breakers, re-purposed vintage records made into clocks. Laser cut images of rock stars and cultural icons made by artist Eric Downey will be offered at $35 and up. If you like unique jewelry, then you're gonna love the steampunk inspired jewelry by Studio Addition, made by artist Addie Spicer. Think gears and chains made into bracelets, necklaces and earrings. This is jewelry with a statement, not your frou frou stuff.
