Saturday Morning Arts for kids
EXPLORE THE ARTS every Saturday! Try a little bit of everything. Try pottery, drawing and painting, acting and dance. Take just one class or spend the morning at CCArts and take any three at a 20% discount. For descriptions of individual classes, please check below or the appropriate sections of the catalog. All materials are included. Please feel free to bring along a snack.The final Saturday will include an art show and performances of student work.

Enjoy drawing and painting with one of your favorite SAGO teachers, a real artist who will teach you how to make art like you never knew you could. Learn sketching, drawing, painting, design, and a little cartooning, too. Last class will be part of our SMArts Show for families and friends. All abilities welcome. Work to develop and improve your skills at whatever level they may be, and tell your parents to have a frame ready! Materials included. Final class will include a show of student work. Play with Clay I: Beginning Potters, Instructor Cindy Hawthorne
Pinch, pat, squeeze, and roll clay. Create tiles and small sculptures as you discover how to make the clay do what you want. Glaze your work, and take home some awesome projects. Materials included. Play with Clay II: Intermediate & Advanced Potters, Instructor Cindy Hawthorne
Make real objects from natural clay, and more. Learn how to decorate your objects with patterns and textures, as you explore basic clay and glazing techniques. Materials included. For beginning young potters 8-11 years old, and 5 -7 year olds who completed "Play with Clay I." in a previous semester. Final class will include a show of student work. Real acting experience will compliment traditional acting games and role playing, leading to a real staged production on the last day. Try different roles.
