Teen Intern Program
The Teen Intern Program at the Center for the Creative Arts is an excellent way for young people to learn about art first hand and gain valuable volunteer and leadership experience. While there are many opportunities for teens to get involved with CCArts throughout the school year, the Teen Intern Program runs mainly in conjunction with our Summer Arts to Grow On camp, which features ten weeks of arts classes for children.
Interns are an essential part of the Summer Arts to Grow
On experience, providing valuable assistance as teachers aides, caretakers, and positive role models for younger students. In exchange for their volunteer time, CCArts interns get to explore their creative talents by working side by side with professional instructors from a variety of backgrounds and artistic mediums.
New to our intern program is our Saturday Morning Arts for kids classes, which are held Saturdays from 9:00am-1:00pm. Interns can help with up to three classes each Saturday during the session. Classes include Pottery, Drawing and Painting, Theater and Dance for a variety of age groups.
In return for volunteering, interns may receive special benefits, including free membership, workshops, and course credits. We are also happy to provide certification and recommendation letters for schools, special programs, and scholarship foundations.
If you know a young adult between the ages of 15 and 18 who would like to participate in the Teen Intern program, please call Rebecca Eppig, CCArts Office Manager and Camp Director at (302) 239-2434 x101, or send an email to Becky.
