  • Continuing Throwing & Handbuilding

    Ages: Teen & Adult

    Prerequisite: 2 years of pottery instruction at CCArts or by invitation from the instructor. Continuing students will work independently with guidance to stretch knowledge and improve skills. This class is designed for those who have mastered the basics of wheel throwing and hand building.  Focus will be placed on form and design, surface decoration, and the making of additions to thrown forms, such as spouts, handles, lids, and other details that make a big difference in the quality of your work. This class is not intended to meet the needs of new pottery students. Fee includes one bag of brown stoneware, studio fee and up to 30 hours of studio time for skill building. Beginning students should choose "Throwing and Handbuilding Basics".

  • Children's Theater at CCArts presents:Tales of Hans Christian Andersen

    This is a surprise package of four very special gifts... from storyteller Hans Christian Andersen. Out of a bright birthday box steps "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" to tell of his undying love for a paper dancing doll. A dilapidated old crate yields the comic tale of "The Swineherd" who spurns a royal princess, and from a basket of eggs comes the well-loved story of "The Ugly Duckling." The quartet of tales concludes with the touching romance of "The Little Mermaid" who loves a human being... the story discovered in an ancient sea chest. Additional rehearsals may be added at the Director's discretion. Weekly rehearsals conclude with a full length ticketed matinee show on June 7, 2014, 2:00 PM.
