    A relief is a raised image or design created on a flat surface. In this class, learn to make various three-dimensional images using clay, plaster, cardboard, and more. Make your artwork pop with a 3/D image that you can put on the wall. This is a great class for beginners. Don't worry if you've never made a relief before.   • Theater for Home Schooled Students: History Comes Alive with Theater/Shakespeare Edition

    Join us as we make history come alive through a stage performance of Pride and Prejudice. Pride and Prejudice is a novel of manners by Jane Austen, first published in 1813. The story follows Elizabeth Bennet, as she deals with issues of manners, upbringing, education, and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of early 19th-century England. All the beloved characters such as Mr. Darcy, Lady Catherine, Mr. and Mrs. Bennet and daughters, the Bingleys, and others will be featured. This is a truly unique course especially designed for the home-schooled that incorporates history, literature, and performance. This classic novel/play will be interpreted and performed as students discuss the playwright and the time in which she lived. History comes alive as students create living portraits of imaginary and real characters during that period of history. Students will learn performance skills as they practice techniques for stage acting along with the wonderful experience of performing this classic play. Plays performed in the past have been Les Miserable Anne of Green Gables, Dracula, the Imaginary Invalid, and the Secret Garden.. A fully staged performance will be presented for family and friends at the conclusion of this course on Monday, March 16, 2015.

  • Children's Theater at CCArts presents: the Wizard of Oz

    A cyclone carries Dorothy and her dog, Toto, to the magical land of Oz, where they encounter all the famous characters from the pen of L. Frank Baum... the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Woodsman, the rubber-legged Scarecrow, Glinda the Good Witch, Munchkins, Winged Monkeys, The Witch of the North, and the evil Witch of the West, who is determined to destroy Dorothy and steal the secret of her ruby red slippers. Auditions will be held during the first class and all those auditioning will be cast. Additional rehearsals may be added at the Director’s discretion. Weekly rehearsals conclude with a ticketed matinee show on Saturday, March 21st at 2 pm.
