See this blockbuster exhibition among friends in a private docent led tour of "some of the most daring and innovative works Vincenet van Gogh ever created. Van Gogh's passionate experimentation and zeal for the natural world are reflected in more than forty close-ups of landscapes, flowers, and still lifes painted during the final five years of the artist's turbulent life." This is the only exhibition of these works shown together in the United States. Meander the museum and enjoy lunch on your own before visiting "Dream garden" the Tiffany glass mosaic designed by Maxfield Parrish at the Curtis Center. Bus transportation and tours are included. Lunch is on your own. Board the bus at CCArts at 8:30am and plan to return by 4:30pm. For a preview of Van Gogh's life and art, please attend the Free Valentines Day Video Marathon Feb. 14.

FREE Valentines Day Video Marathon: Vincent van Gogh

9:30-10:00am AND 3:30-4:00pm

"CBS 60 Minutes: The Life and Death of Vincent van Gogh". His paintings are among the most well-known in the world, just like the story of his life and death. Contrary to legend, authors have a new biography say their exhaustive investigation indicates he may not have taken his own life. Morley Safer reports 10/16/2011.

10:15-11:45am AND 4:15-5:45pm

"Vincent: The Life and Death of Vincent van Gogh" the 1988 biographical story of van Gogh's life told in his own words. His casual sketches detailed drawings and famous paintings are brought to life as letters to his brother and eloquently read by John Hurt, a passionate tribute to this extraordinary artist.

1:00-3:15pm AND 6:45-9:00pm

"Lust for Life" starring Kirk Douglas and Anthony Quinn in the iconic 1956 filmed biography based on Irving Stones' best-selling novel. Centered on van Gogh's stormy friendship with fellow artist Gauguin, nearly 200 of van Gogh's original paints appear in the film. Some are vividly recreated as we watch, filmed in authentic Dutch and French locations, as the artist paints at his easel.
