Opening Reception and Silent Auction

Friday, April 13th from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm; not only will this be the Opening Reception of the 2007 CCArts Annual Members' Exhibition it is also a Silent Auction, so come early and plan to stay till the end!! Many amazing baskets and items to bid on for yourself...or maybe someone else. Hope to see you there.


Judge - Donna Cusano

Ms. Cusano graduated cum laude with a BFA in Graphic Design from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. As an illustrator she created a number of designs and images for small health industry periodicals, food manufacturers, and local marketing agents. In the early 1990's she began pastel painting 'en plein air' and in 1994, was accepted into The Pastel Society of America and was invited to jury into The Best of Pastel published by Rockport Publishers in 1996. In 1998, She was a finalist in The Artist's Magazine's Annual Art Competition. Since the late 1990's, she has been successfully making her living as an artist and her work has been featured locally in Art Matters Magazine, Chester County Town and Country Living, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. Her work is currently represented locally at Hardcastle Gallery, Strodes Mill Gallery and The Purple Door Studio.

Eligibility


Artists must be current members of the Center for the Creative Arts and must submit in one of the following three categories:

 

Professional:

Artists meeting more than one of the following criteria should consider registering in this category:

 
  1. artists have completed the basic training in a fine art medium (university or college graduation or the equivalent in specialized training, such as several years of self-directed study or apprenticeship);
  2. artists have completed an independent body of work and received the recognition of their peers through public presentation of their work, such as in museums, public art galleries, artist-run centers and juried art fairs;
  3. artists devote a significant portion of their energy to their practice and a majority of their income is substantiated by their art.
 

Student:

Artists not meeting the criteria for Professional or Youth should consider entering in this category.

Youth:

Any artist 15 years of age or younger.


Entries


Artists may submit up to TWO entries in the following media categories: paintings; photography; sculpture; jewelry; or works on paper. Identification tags with artists names, phone number and work title must be attached to the upper right hand corner of the back of the work or bottom of sculpture. Entries must be original artwork done without the aid of an instructor or with the use of photographs taken by anyone other than the artist. Works previously exhibited at the Center for the Creative Arts are not eligible, and may be refused at any point prior to the opening reception. Works must be framed and ready to hang )canvas paintings may be unframed) ... works without string or wire will not be accepted or hung. All entries must be for sale and a 30% commission will be retained by CCArts. No entries may be removed until exhibition closes. CCArts is not responsible for any work left beyond pick-up deadlines and works left 30 days or more past pick-up deadlines becomes the sole property of CCArts. Submission of work cites understanding of above policies. Registration paperwork will be available at drop-off or by request from the office and must be filled out completely for acceptance.


Entry Fees


A non-refundable entry fee of $18.00 for Professional and Student categories and $5.00 for Youth category in the form of cash or a check made payable to CCArts is required. 


Schedule


The exhibition will open to the public:
Monday through Thursday, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm,

Friday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and

Saturday, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Artists are encouraged to attend the opening reception

Deliver Entries

Saturday, March 24th, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm,

Monday and Tuesday , March 26th & 27th, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm

Delivery of Print Racks
Thursday April 5th at 5pm, Artists may submit one rack full of prints of their work.

Opening Reception & Silent Auction
Friday, April 13th, 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm


Pick-up of Exhibited Work

Monday-Wednesday, May 14th - 16th, 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm
