Al Staszesky

Al Staszesky has been creating something all his life. As a child he was awarded numerous art scholarships at the Delaware Art Museum.   He has done quick sketches and pastel portraits of faces at the beach, caricatures of patrons for a restaurant owner.  Al has also been designing logos and brochures for companies along the way.  His work has won numerous awards at area shows and is in private collections around the world.  Thirty years ago he began studying oil painting under Edward L. Loper Sr. with his unique and singular style.  Furthering his study of art at the Barnes Foundation of Merion Station, Pennsylvania.  Other areas of interest are wire sculpture and mobiles.

His time now is spent teaching classes in art appreciation, figure drawing, oil painting and sculpture.  When not teaching, Al sketches and paints, always trying to perfect his art and create something new and exciting for people to see.

About his oil painting classes at the Center for the Creative Arts, Al says, "My class isn't about painting just like anyone else. It isn't about abstract, contemporary, or any other school of art. The class is about the search for color. Each person paints what they see. My job is to help you do what you do better. The class is designed so that the painter with more knowledge paints beside the first time painter. Everyone learns from the experience. There is no end to learning."
